Employee Spotlight: Kelvin Spruill

Where do you live? Or where did you grow up?

I live in Germantown, Maryland and grew up in Philadelphia.

When did you join Dignari?

March 2022.

What drew you to work at Dignari? Is there a cultural attribute that you think makes Dignari unique?

I had a few destinations to choose from upon looking for a new company. When making a decision like that, you pray about it and then research the company that is interested in you. I researched Dignari, and what stood out was how the company started, that it was led by an incredible team, including the owner Gena Alexa, and the incredible people on the team. I was definitely impressed by the knowledge and skill of the team. Dignari also intrigued me because of what Dignari recruiter Michelle Martin told me about the culture and the fact that they were growing and needed people with my skillset.

I listened to what she said, and the more she talked about Dignari, the more it seemed like a perfect fit. Specifically, Michelle mentioned a caring aspect of the company, and people were treated very well and appreciated. That goes a long way with me; if you spend long hours working for a company and its clients, you want to be appreciated and not feel lost in the dynamics. As soon as I started, I could feel the difference in how things worked, which made me know that I had made the right decision.

What do you love about your job?

The events that occur with the team outside of work and the company events outside of work to connect and really get to know who you are working with. I know and like the people I work with; nothing has been negative.

Everyone respects each other, and you definitely feel appreciated. I can apply my skillset and knowledge - gaining new skills and insights from the work performed. You definitely learn and grow in skill, expertise, and direction in where you want to grow and achieve in your career.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

I have always had a technical curiosity, from video games to computers; just a fan of the technical aspects of things. New gadgets and technology would be something along those lines. I have always wanted to be a musician; on a side note, I love music, which is a calming factor after a rough day.

What do you like doing when you aren’t working?

Family, music, concerts, bowling, golf, traveling, reading, and being a foodie are some of the things I enjoy when not working.

What’s your favorite place in the world?

I like Maui in Hawaii; I think that is one of the most beautiful places in the world!

What’s on your bucket list?

Visiting countries in Europe and Africa.

Do you have a motto or personal mantra?

Carpe diem!

Any other information you would like to share?

Many people did not make it to this year; enjoy the time and people you come in contact with, family and friends. Time is fleeting; make the most of it when you can!
