The Federal Cloud Computing Strategy recently updated in 2019 (Cloud Smart) is a long-term, high-level strategy to drive cloud adoption in Federal agencies. Dignari’s approach for application modernization aligns with Cloud Smart and follows a process to deconstruct, evaluate, reconstruct, plan, monitor and measure an organization’s ability to meet its migration and modernization objectives. Our application assessment approach documents key findings for the “as-is” solution, considers various alternatives for cloud migration to a “to-be” architecture, and provides our recommendation that best satisfies mission objectives.

Dignari Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are providing a cloud assessment of numerous applications for USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), as they undertake a modernization effort for their critical food safety systems. Their objective is to increase FSIS application reliability, stability, and performance. Our understanding not only of cloud service technologies but also our enterprise architecture expertise has allowed us to develop a migration strategy and approach that effectively transitions FSIS to their target state and satisfy their mission objective.
